Coronavirus (COVID-19), Intellectual Disability, Autism, ADHD, Epilepsy and Acquired Brain Injury
COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus (World Health Organisation, 2020). Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. However, those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness (World Health Organisation, 2020). The list of relevant underlying medical problems can be found here.
People who have the conditions covered by RADiANT (Intellectual Disability, Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Epilepsy, or Acquired Brain Injury) may be experiencing worry about how coronavirus may affect them. We have collated links to information on coronavirus and each of our RADiANT populations.
If any of our members would like to notify us of a resource which can be added to our list, please email Verity Chester on v.chester@nhs.net.
